💥 Chaos 💥
Happy Friday!
If you value more than one thing (like any normal human), you may come to an impasse in budgeting where you can’t afford everything you value. 😭
Even if you’ve shortened your list of values to what you believe is the bare minimum for a happy life, the number still may not allow it.
Here’s an important thing to understand about values-based spending: Sometimes, values-based spending means cutting back in places you don’t value as much to free up space for what you value more highly.
Sometimes, saying ‘no’ is easy because you learn that you don’t value the expense.
Other times it’s going to look like giving up some things you value because you want more of other things that you value more.
While there’s no deprivation in values-based spending, it does require sacrifice.
Saying ‘no’ can allow you to see how much you really value something.
There may come a time when you give something up to afford something you think you value more and you end up learning that the thing you thought was important is not as important as you thought it’d be.
When you say ‘no’ to one thing you value, it doesn’t mean you say no to everything.
Decide every month how you want to prioritize what you value so you can feel like you’re living your best life.

Jen’s picks for a stellar weekend.
✅ Watch This: Ahsoka (Disney+). As a casual Star Wars nerd, I have been pleased by this series so far. And I didn’t even watch Clone Wars or Rebels (I said CASUAL OK!?).
✅ Listen to This: Throw it back this weekend with a little Augustana. Specifically ‘Can’t Love Can’t Hurt’ (2008) and ‘Augustana’ (2011). Remember you can still get 3 months free of Spotify Premium here.
✅ Do this: Ready to have a say on how the financial industry can serve you better? Join the HerMoney Council from HerMoney Media– an elite group of women who will help shape research initiatives, content, and future products.
✅ Eat This: Meatball subs. When was the last time you made meatball subs? I always forget how easy and GOOD they are! Get some frozen meatballs, a jar of marinara, a bag of moz, and throw that goodness on a hoagie! Yum. 🤤

Sometimes, life is life-ing and your surroundings can turn into what can best be described as chaotic. As I write this, my home is half construction zone half monster truck rally. 🚜 And on top of that, school is back in session.
Let's work together to survive the chaos and make it (or at least the back-to-school part) go as smoothly as possible! Our friend Jessi created this free back-to-school guide that will help you strategize and get organized to tame the chaos.
