Hey you,

The fall has us thinking about all the beautiful decor, colors, and just the general comfy vibe of this season and we want to make the most of what can feel like a short-lived time of the year. 🍂🍁🎃☕

It’s this time of year I’m always tempted to buy ALL THE MUMS, pumpkins, corn stalks, and even plants & seeds for spring…

…but I also don’t want to feel like I’m wasting money on actively perishing items. 🙃

The good news is, we can still enjoy all the lovely things of autumn AND get some of the plants and decor that are calling to us.

It just takes a little extra thought and planning.

To take some of that mental load off your plate, here’s how we save on plants.

The Best Way to Save on Plants This Fall:

🌿 Shop clearance! Whether you are at a big box store or local nursery, there are usually discounted plants to be found AND there’s always room for negotiation on pricing when it’s already been marked down.

Check out EP 339 How to Negotiate and Save Lots of Money for more info on how to kindly, and effectively score the best possible price on products and services.

You know I can’t stop there. To imbed more tips into this 1 tip, here are some more plant savings ideas:

  • 🍃 Keep an eye out for clipping of plants that have fallen to the ground. I’ve heard from a reliable source that you are welcome to pick these up, take them home for free, and propagate them yourself! It’s better than them going into the trash!

  • 🤝 Trade plant clippings with your friends! Of your plants that can be propagated, have a little exchange where you trade various cuttings from plants inside and outside your home.

  • ❄️ Shop end of the season. If you can wait a little longer, you CAN get those mums at a steep discount and still enjoy them for weeks before true winter hits.

And if all these savings on gardening and beautifying your home have you wanting more, check out EP 172 Decorating your Home on a Budget.
