Hey!

Hope you’re having a great morning, afternoon, evening, whenever you’re reading this.

Here’s some motivation for you this Monday: If you think you are too small to be effective, you have never been in the dark with a mosquito. 🦟

(Wisdom from Reese Witherspoon’s mom, Betty)

And if you think your income is too small to have fun, then you haven’t read enough Friendletters!

Let’s get into it!

🍔 September 18 is National Cheeseburger Day. Burger King Royal Perks members can celebrate with a free cheeseburger (regularly $1.99) with any $1 purchase. And Wendy’s is giving us a $0.01 Junior Bacon Cheese Burger (regularly $3.59) with any purchase. Here’s a KKL’s list of every Chzbrgr Day deal.

🧀 September 20th is Free Queso Day at Moe’s. If you’ve ever had queso at Moe’s, you know it’s the best. If you don’t agree, you are secretly lactose intolerant. No purchase is necessary if you're picking it up in person. If you're ordering through the app or website, you must purchase an entrée. Find your nearest Moe’s here.

🍦 Continuing with this week’s theme of dairy, September 22nd is National Ice Cream Cone Day. Look for free cone upgrades at ice cream shops. You can also download the Baskin Robbins app and sign up for mobile deals to get a digital coupon for a free scoop of ice cream (no purchase necessary). Plus, you’ll also get a free scoop on your birthday (and can register up to five family/friends’ birthdays)!

🏹🎣 September 23rd is Hunting & Fishing Day. Looking for something to do this weekend? Check your area for free events that promote hunting, fishing, and the conservation necessary to preserve the sports. Here’s a list of official events but Facebook Events and your state’s Fish and Wildlife Commission will also be good places to look.

P.S. If you’re looking for pro tips and tricks to help you save BIG on your favorite indulgences (🍔🧀🍦), check out this episode: Modern Couponing For Beginners. Thank us later.

🔐 All Your Bills When You Retire 🔐

Do you know if you’re on track with your retirement savings? It’s no surprise only 30% of Americans feel like they are. It may not seem urgent but what money are you going to use to pay your bills in retirement? Here’s a free way for you to find out. 👇🏻

Head to Empower and sign up for their free personal finance tools. Then connect all of your retirement accounts, 401(k), IRAs, HSAs, and everything you plan to use in retirement (simply log into them when prompted to connect accounts.)

Then, under the Planning tab, click Retirement Planner. Here you can play around with how much you’re saving, when you take Social Security, various market conditions, etc. and Empower will tell you the chance your portfolio will meet your goals. For free!

You should check out the Retirement Fee Analyzer while you’re in there. A great way to see how much money you’re saving on (or losing too!) fees. And if any of the retirement accounts you connect have at least $1,000 in them you’ll get a $20 Amazon gift card! But you have to sign up with this link. Did we mention all this insight is FREE!? **

(Your parents would’ve paid big bucks for this info. Don’t sleep on it!)
